Here we are, already three months into 2025 and like you we’ve had a growing todo list that always seems to get lost under the dozen other things that feel so pressing. Life happened, that soul sucking career kept demanding more and more, and let’s not forget about that house project lurking just behind that free Saturday we thought we had. Before we knew it, the website had a thick coat of dust on it and a bucket of outdated WordPress plugins. So two years and a couple of weekends later, we’re proud to unveil a new version of the website.
What’s new?
Not a whole lot has changed but we have introduced a couple of new quality of life improvements. The first notable update is our new member registration system. It’s now much easier to join our online workshop with our new member registration form. The other addition is the introduction of our mailing list. By joining our mailing list you can stay up to date on the latest happenings in the group. To be honest, we’re not quite sure what our newsletter will be yet, but we promise it’s the easiest way to stay in the loop about future group announcements.
What’s going on with the group?
The group has been experiencing a bit of a lull. Like we said earlier, life has been demanding and participation has been low, but we’re working hard to change that. In addition to rolling out a brand new website, we’re also working on promoting the group in town. We suspect that there are a lot of writers in Vernonia that have not been introduced to our group yet. If you are one of those writers, we really want to get to know you.
How to participate
Our group meets once a month at the Vernonia Public Library. No invitation is required, anyone is welcome to join us. We encourage people to participate in discussions and share your work but there is no obligation, it’s perfectly fine to just come and write or listen. Our goal is to inspire and offer advice. Check our calendar to see when the next meetup will be.
Alternatively, we also offer an online workshop which is basically just a forum where people can share their work and solicit feedback. There’s no obligation to attend the meetups if you just prefer to interact online and vice versa as well. We recognize that it’s more comfortable for some people participate from home. The online workshop is a safe place only accessible to group members. Register here to become a member.
